Fraser Valley Real Estate Update

The Fraser Valley market stats are in for the month of December!

And let’s just say for many, it was an unexpected year in the real estate market.

With the market at a standstill for months due to COVID-19, many people were predicting doom and gloom. Yet, December turned out to be another record-breaker, capping off 2020 with an exclamation point!!

Despite this crazy pandemic, the total annual sales in the Fraser Valley still finished 12.4 percent above the 10-year average.

This was largely in part due to unrelenting, pent-up consumer demand during the second half of 2020.

White Rock, BC

How the real estate market responded to the pandemic was nothing short of remarkable. No one could have anticipated a 6-month stretch as we’ve just experienced. The seasonal cycles that we typically see simply did not apply.

And probably the most unexpected, has been the unwavering demand for family-sized homes. And coupled with low inventory, many areas are in a Sellers Market and experiencing multiple-offer situations.

So if you have been thinking of selling, but have held off due to the pandemic, you should know that the industry has mastered how to keep consumers safe using technology and safety protocol. If you’d like to learn how I’m keeping my clients safe, I’d be happy to share that with you.

Also, keep in mind that the numbers I share in the video are macro numbers for the entire Fraser Valley. Every neighborhood is different. So if you are thinking of selling your home send me a note or give me a call and we can review the latest numbers in your specific South Surrey / White Rock neighborhood.
